Chicagoan Paul Warshauer fell in love with the Renaissance Mansion when he first walked in. “What a great place for a murder,” he said. Now his nationally recognized company has teamed up with the folks at the Renaissance Mansion to present a series of original murder mysteries at the Renaissance Mansion located at 401 S. 39th Street in Omaha, Nebraska on August 27th.
The first show entitled “Murder at the Renaissance Casino!” took place May 21st, 2010, with additional shows having taken place in June and July at the Renaissance Mansion. In August, the Cocktail reception begins at 7:00 pm and the dinner and show begin at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $40.00 per person and include a four course gourmet meal including dessert and a wine pour. Call (402) 346-2990 as seating is limited. Tickets may be purchased for any show in advance.
The show for the Renaissance, written, directed, and hosted by Warshauer, features a story about the current owners of the mansion wanting to conduct séances! A cast of goofy characters try to persuade the widow into having the Renaissance Mansion become a premiere destination for paranormal activity. Her lawyer is against it, her press agent is for it and her son just wants to play baseball! Into the mansion comes the surreal Madame Baboüshka and her young assistant. Will they get their way to stealing the mansion or will something intercede? Somewhere during the evening one of the cast members will be murdered and the audience becomes the sleuths trying to solve the murder. In Warshauer’s original format, audience members are allowed to cross examine the suspects to determine their alibis, motives and use of the murder weapons. There is always a fun denouement!
“Humor is an important part of all my murder mysteries,” Warshauer said. He has presented over 200 original murder mysteries from Alaska to Florida and from California to Maine. His website is www.murders4fun.com.
